Its pages also disagree on fees: no platform fees on one page, and a flat 5% data fee in the help center.

- A May 2024 Blip statement says it pays owners the month after content runs.
Blip advertisers pay per 8-second play, from $0.01 on one page and $0.02 on another. Owners pay no upfront fee. But Blip posts no revenue share for owners. Its own pages also disagree on fees, as the table below shows.
How much does Blip cost advertisers?
Blip prices by the play. An ad pays only when it shows. The pricing page says "Starting at $0.01 per display." Its FAQ says that is per 8-second play. The cost changes with location, time of day and demand.
| Item | What Blip says (Oct. 12, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Starting price | From $0.01 per display (pricing page, homepage) |
| Programmatic starting price | From $0.02 per 8-second blip, "$17/day all day coverage" |
| Minimum spend | None. Daily budgets from $20 in some locations (homepage) |
| Contracts | None |
| Price shown before buying | Yes. Blip says it shows the estimated cost before you commit |
The programmatic page does not explain what "all day coverage" covers. See Blip's programmatic page.
Where do Blip's own pages disagree?
In three places.
| Topic | One page says | Another page says |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | $0.01 per display (pricing page, homepage) | $0.02 per blip (programmatic page) |
| Fees | No setup, platform, agency or retainer fees (pricing page) | A flat 5% data fee on campaign spend (help center). 5% of a purchase goes to a technology fee (terms) |
| Network size | 3,500+ billboards (sign operator page); 3,500+ screens (programmatic page) | 2,700+ locations (homepage); 2,000+ locations (About page) |
The 5% fee is explained in Blip's help center. It says the fee covers audited impression data, campaign data and processing. On a $100 budget that is fully spent, $95 goes to the campaign and $5 to the fee. Blip's terms are written to advertisers. They say 5% of your purchase goes to a technology fee. Ask Blip which line is current.
How is the price set?
Blip is a bidding marketplace. An advertiser sets a daily budget and a Max-per-Blip bid. Blip's help page says the higher your budget, the more blips you win. Your spend will not go over the daily limit.
The Max-per-Blip page calls $0.25 a "standard number" and shows bids of $0.50 and $0.60 as examples. So a real price can sit well above $0.01. A higher bid makes an ad more likely to run.
What other charges can advertisers meet?
- Prepayments are not refundable, per Blip's terms and its refund page.
- Dormant accounts pay a monthly fee after 12 months with no activity. The terms set it at the greater of 5% of prepaid funds or $50.
- Late payments accrue interest of up to 1.5% a month, per the terms.
- Blip Premium is an optional paid plan with support calls and a priority email queue. Its help page shows no price.
- Billing starts with a hold for your first day of spend. Then it moves to once every 3 to 5 days of active spend, per the billing page.
How does a Blip price compare with a regular billboard?
It is a different way to pay. A regular billboard rents by the month. Blip bills by the play. Blip's pricing page says a regular billboard averages $3,953 a month and ranges from $250 to $100,000+. Those are Blip's figures about other billboards, not Blip prices. See our digital billboard cost guide.
Here is a simple example. At $0.25 a play, 1,000 plays cost $250. That is an example, not a quote. Your price depends on the sign, the hour and the demand. Blip says it shows the cost before you commit.
What does a sign owner earn or pay?
Blip's sign operator page says there are no upfront fees. You earn as advertisers book your slots.
| Item for owners | As published (Oct. 12, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Upfront fee | None |
| Revenue share | Not published |
| Earnings claim | "$3,000 to $20,000 or more per month." No method shown |
| Customer example | YESCO Outdoor Media saw a 16% revenue lift, per Blip |
| Payout timing | The month after content runs (May 2024); a monthly check (March 2023). Not on current pages |
| Player hardware | Blip's team installs it. No cost or specs listed |
| Contract length and exclusivity | Not published |
The earnings claim depends on location, traffic, demand and fill rate. Treat it as Blip's claim, not a promise.
A 2019 Billboard Insider profile says Blip keeps a percentage of marketplace spend and passes most of it to the owner. It gives no number, and it is over seven years old. It also says owners keep all the revenue from their own direct clients.
On timing, a May 2024 reader response from Blip's VP of Supply says Blip pays the month after content runs. Programmatic pay follows when the exchanges pay Blip. A March 2023 Blip post says "we send you a check each month." Both are over two years old. Blip's payments guide says each payment comes with an invoice that shows the revenue source and the time the content played. It gives no share.
Does SignDash cost extra?
SignDash is separate software. In December 2025, Billboard Insider reported that Blip bought it. Blip's sign operator page links to it and lists no SignDash price. See SignDash pricing.
How does Blip compare with other marketplaces?
| Marketplace | Owner price as published |
|---|---|
| Blip | No upfront fee. No revenue share posted |
| AdQuick | No owner price. See AdQuick pricing |
| DOmedia | 0% and 0.5% of all contracted media on two tiers. Full is a quote |
What should you ask Blip before you sign?
- What share of each sale do I keep?
- Who pays the 5% fee, and does it come out of my share?
- When and how am I paid today?
- How long is the agreement, and can I leave?
- Can I block ad categories I do not want?
- What does the Blip Player need, and what does it cost?
- How do I keep my direct sales and my Blip sales from clashing?
