Hold

A hold is a short, temporary claim on a face for certain dates while a buyer decides.

A hold keeps a face off the market for a short time. It lets a buyer get approval without losing the dates.

OAAA says hold periods are negotiated between buyer and seller. There is no single industry length.

The IAB-led DOOH glossary describes 24-houring. A second buyer gives the first holder 24 hours to book or drop the hold.

Example

Dana Ortiz places a hold on D-031 for Hollis Family Dental. The practice has two days to sign before the hold drops.

In Gabie

Holds lapse 48 hours after they are placed, with an in-app Hold expiring notice. Every hold re-checks capacity, and a clash shows what holds the dates.

Every empty face is money you already spent.
