Bleed

Bleed is extra artwork printed past a billboard’s visible edge, usually 6 inches per side on bulletins.

OAAA defines bleed as print area past the live copy area, often to the finished edge.

OAAA’s spec sheet says bulletin vinyls generally need 6 inches of bleed on all four sides. So a 14 x 48 foot face prints at 15 x 49 feet.

Run background color and images into the bleed. Keep words out of it.

In Gabie

Studio adds a 6-inch bleed to every canvas and draws the trim line.
